Paddle Around the World to see These SUP-friendly Winter Events

Paddle Boarding with Pet | iROCKER SUP

We are very excited about all of the new and current customers who are purchasing a new iRocker SUP to assist them with getting back in shape for 2019. The iRocker Paddle Boards can go anywhere and they do because all you do is add the backpack that carries the inflatable board, paddle, and pump to their luggage and off it goes. It is 2019 people, a great year to shape up and ship out to the ocean, river or lakes. Feel great, have fun and experience the incredible exhilaration….. Rock Out with iRocker SUP.

Some SUP-ers think they have to put their iSUPs away when the colder months approach, but that’s not true for hardcore SUP-ers. Instead of deflating your iROCKER and tucking it away in your iROCKER Back Pack Carry Bag for the winter, bring it out to a cool winter SUP event.

For those of you who are interested in trying out a winter SUP event, there are a few cities that embrace the cold and use the holiday spirit to put on light shows and festive events.

If you’re up for the adventure, throw on a wetsuit and give one of these events a visit.

Experience Art and Culture at the Amsterdam Light Festival

The Amsterdam Light Festival is a pretty big darn deal. It’s the kind of ginormous event that goes at the top of a bucket list. Foreign and local artists come together to install projections, light shows and artwork all along the Keizersgracht Canal. It’s seriously amazing.

Amsterdam is already beautiful, with its gorgeous architecture and famous canals. When the town lights up, though, it’s a sight that can’t be explained. Colorful projections, imaginative artwork and bright lights turn the city into a fantastical wonderland.

There’s no better way to see the show than from on top of your iSUP, viewing from the Keizersgracht canal. You’ll be able to admire the show as a whole. If you decide to pack a camera or camera phone in your Cooler Deck Bag, you’ll definitely score some awesome pictures.

Nights of Lights in Historic St. Augustine

The quaint town of St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. It sure doesn’t feel old, though. People in this city love lively living, and they don’t slow down just because it gets a little cold outside.

Even though most Floridians aren’t used to cold temperatures, the locals of St. Augustine, Florida suck it up and hold the St. Augustine Nights of Lights Event night after night. They put on a stunning light show for tourists.

Enjoy the sight of beautiful Castillo Drive from your iSUP on the Matanzas River. The illuminating lights will be mesmerizing, especially from your special view on your iSUP.

If you want to switch it up and sit back while you ogle at lights, try out our Kayak Seat attachment.

Sydney’s Own Every Man and His Dog Event

The Every Man and His Dog SUP Event happens right in Sydney. If you’re not looking to travel too far this year, it might be the one for you. SUP-ers and their puppy counterparts spend the entire day riding SUPs, playing games and competing in friendly matches against other SUP-er and pupper pairs.

Everyone meets up at Watson’s Bay around 10 a.m. on the day of the event. That’s right, this isn’t just an event to celebrate good dogs, good people and good times, it’s also an event to celebrate Australia Day!

What better way to celebrate than to paddle around in the sun and splash around in the water with your favorite furry friend? The bond between you and your dog will be stronger by the end of the day.

You can participate in games, like the “Man and Dog Treasure Hunt” together. In this game, the SUP-er and their dog paddle out to open water on their iSUP. If the dog spots a toy in the water, he jumps in to fetch it. The dog who has the most toys by the end is the king of the pooches.

You might want to start practicing with your dog right away.

If you check out any of the events, or even if you know of any events you want to tell us about, give us the deets!
